The Center for Technology Responding to Climate Change is a autonomous unit under the Vietnamese Government's Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change (DMHCC). With a focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation activities, our services include scientific research, consultation, training and capacity building, project management and implementation. Our staff comprises experienced researchers and consultants in the field of meteorology, hydrology, environment and climate change, including many with PhD and Masters level qualifications. We welcome opportunities for partnership on climate change adaptation and mitigation projects. Established in 2009 under the name of “Center of Data and Information for Natural Disaster Prevention”, our recent achievements include: • developing community-based adaptation solutions in vulnerable mountainous, coastal and delta regions. • developing climate change action plans for Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Son La, Dien Bein and Bac Ninh. • conducting an evaluation of the climate change actions plans of various regions of Vietnam. • supporting media campaigns to raise public awareness of climate change issues. • collaborating with the Unions of Women and Youth to implement climate change training programs. • developing tools for the monitoring and evaluation of the National Climate Change Strategy. • providing input to the national database of national environmental resources. • modeling of the impacts under various climate change scenarios in key economic regions. • providing research support for Vietnam’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory and activities relating to Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and national conditions (NAMA).
