The Center Development of Community Participatory Monitoring Resource (CDPM) was found in 2017 based on functions and duties over nine years of the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) for organic farming in Vietnam (http://www.vietnamorganic.vn/). The center continues to support smallholder farmers through the current PGS system. It also aims to develop an organic guarantee system for private farms. Key activities: • Consulting, transferring Science and Technology in organic farming • Training in technical production and participatory monitoring methods • Accreditation and evaluation of compliance with organic production procedures Its activities include but not limited to training, building producer system, certifying, building distribution systems, educating consumers to choose safe food. Until now, the organization has trained more than 1000 people, 60 training classes for farmers and system participants, contribute to increase the organic production area three-times from 2007 to 2014. Most vegetable area is certified through the PGS. CDPM has experiences with farmers and food chain providers, education, and training for consumers. As an NGO organization, it has deep relationships with organizations working on sustainable food, food educators, researchers, and policymakers. It also accesses a network of behavior change research and education. Examples of some projects implemented by CDPM members with high impact and sustainability • Developing a Framework for Production and Marketing of Organic Agriculture in Vietnam (ADDA – 2004 – 2012, DKK 13.50000, 2004 – 2012). • Development of PGS for organic farming in the six countries in the Mekong sub-region. • Strengthening the Framework for Production and Marketing of Organic Agricultural Products in Northern Vietnam (ADDA, DKK 3.80000, 2016 – 2019). Above an alternative certificate for small local farmers, PGS enhances empowerment, knowledge sharing, and relationship building in the network.
