We were 5 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs jammed into 2 tents, bedding was a glorified yoga mat, 1 pillow and one sheet, there are no mosquito nets and bugs could come and go as they pleased, at 5am the public address speakers screamed into life and there was no sleeping through that. We didn't stay for breakfast. Glamping it is not.

Beautiful space for family and groups, surrounded by mountains. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Nice sun set, and great fire pit to follow up and end the night.

I booked Yen Retreat without any expectations, and it turns out one of the most beautiful experiences in my life. It is 500.000vnd per pax, including a tent, dinner, breakfast, and kayaking on the river. My girlfriend and I are vegetarians, and they are accommodating to prepare such a big dinner, and all the dishes are delicious, I felt sad I couldn't finish all of them. The rent we stayed has what we need. In the evening you can hear the natural sounds of insects, see the beautiful lights and camping fire. You may see some insects in your tent, but please don't kill, be kind to them, and take them out. If you look for a very comfortable hotel, it is not a place for you; But if you want to experience the countryside atmosphere, mountains, river, relax, quiet and to look at thousand stars in the sky, you should come here. Remember to bring toothbrushes, toothpaste, mosquitos spray and suncream with you. In the morning we also have a chance to do kayaking, it is fun and exciting, the owner is very kind and helpful. Everything was just a perfect Sunday for us, to get more energy and go back to work. Thank you for everything.

Well my friends and I were looking at land in the neighborhood. It's 35 minutes from the airport in Danang. They wanted to see the place. I am not really a camper but I went. We parked across the street at some ladies house. The camp has No Parking! The gate was open and we walked in. Went down the bamboo stairs. So no wheel chairs are getting in without alot of help. The staff seemed to be confused. I ask for a drink and we got lotus water. My friends sat down under the gazebo and looked at the place. One of my friends almost broke his ankle on the board walk. The board was not nailed down and it flipped up hit him in the shin. He told a staff member and they went to look at it. But did nothing about it. The boards were warped and needed to be replaced or atleast nailed down. We sat for about 30 mins until the one of the staff came and asked us what we were doing here? We told them we had just come to look. He immediatly asked us to leave, which I didn't think was to hospitable. It a reservation only thing. Meaning they don't take people who just drop in. We left and I don't intend to go back. It's not my kind of place to enjoy. They had a wedding planned and we saw some earlier arrivals. They didn't look too happy, it was 100 degrees in the shade and it was only 3 pm. I hate to give a bad reviews, but this place sucks. Maybe they should really encourage people to come back, even people who just drop in. Instead of running them off.

As a resident of the States, I am something of a stranger in a strange land here in south Vietnam. As a traveler from distant shores, I long for exotic sights and experiences, while simultaneously and secretly enjoying the comfort of sights and tastes which are familiar to me, and comforting. The Retreat is a happy mixture of the two. Located 30 mins outside Da Nang via car, this place is close enough to town for the trip to be manageable, yet distant enough to get away from the crowds and noise that one sometimes encounters closer to the main roads or the beach. Tucked away off the side of the road and down a set of stairs is a well groomed, naturally minimalist vista that would seem at home in my native place in the Pacific Northwest. An open central "green" lies beside a lively river, with kayaks available for those that fancy some time on the water. A stone's throw from the water line lies the clubhouse, a cozy space appointed in wood and bamboo with ample seating for, I would guess, 30 adults. A variety of simple, tasty foods and beverages are on offer. Stay until twilight and the stringed lights come on, giving this place a real adult-clubhouse feel. Should you choose to stay after twilight, tents are maintained on the premises for just this purpose. My visit occurred right at the start of the rainy season, and a tropical storm rolled in while we were enjoying our beers and grilled pork belly. It was a pretty vicious storm, but we remained dry in the clubhouse. I'd advise you to wear flip flops for the ascent back up to street level however, as the climb in this rain is guaranteed to soak you from the ankles down. All in all, absolutely worth a try, as this can make a fun evening to a day of adventures. Sit down at a circular wooden table, order yourself some pork belly and a ca phe, and enjoy this beautiful place.
