The fauna and Flora are abundant with lots of typical species, especially salangane and Macaca mulatta that are listed in the Vietnam Red Book. Because of its historical and cultural depth and its outstanding universal value, UNESCO’s man and Biosphere Council recognized Cham Island, Hoi An as a World Reserve on May 26th 2009.
BAI ONG BEACH CHAM ISLAND – PARADISE BEACH Bai Ong Cham Island is located in the northwest of Lao Island. It’s 550m long and 50m wide. It’s beautiful beach with white smooth sand, gently circling the blue seaside. The beach is full of shady coconut trees, which is very suitable for relaxing and enjoying fresh sea-breezes. Here, there are Co Hon (wandering soul) Temple and Ca Ong (whale) Cemetery. They are relics which feature the spiritual life of the people in this place. An archaeological site relating to the lives of people living here more than 3000 years ago were found in Bai Ong.
