This is the tomb of the first king of the Nguyen Dynasty. He built his tomb and the the surrounding area as his resting place while he was still alive. The man really did put a lot of thought and effort into this project. The place is located on the furthest side of Perfume river in a beautiful valley. The place is so beautiful you can make it a resort. A lot of nice view and trees. Big lake right in front of his grave. I would pay top dollars to stay here, dead or alive. He is quite progressive for a king at his time by allowing his wife to be buried next to him. Talking about gender equality right. Also, since he is basically the founding father of his own kingdom, he got to choose the best fungshui land (also the furthest to the mountain). The man really knows how to enjoy his power.

This is the historic place near Hue city, one of the places not so much tourist.
The tomb is pretty far away from the city, but thanks to that, we were only 3 people in the whole place. This is so quite, surrounded by nature, and beautiful. 3 sites out of 5 are having some renovations right now so, if you're going there in few months, I imagine that it will be awesome.
Finally I understand why the Hue's historical site packages don't include this tomb into it (though Gia Long was the first king of Nguyen Dynasty in the ancient Vietnam). Bcz the location is in the deep village. The access is just a small sandy road with forest around it. On the front of the tomb there is a lake. The view is so great!
It is beautiful and quite place. I highly recommend tourist to visit this place. It is quite unique in its own way.
You can definitely skip this one, far from interesting compared to the others. One building is worth seeing, that's about it.
Highly recommend this site. This tomb is 8km away from the tomb of Khai Dinh. What comes to your mind first is a huge contrast between the hidden charm and the extravagant of this kind...
Quite difficult to reach. With many narrow, constructing, unpaved roads. 40000 Dong entrance fee. Very impressive site.
