The young startup designed, manufactures, and sells the LaBobo - the world's first portable sink aimed at Base of Pyramid consumers. Why the LaBobo? Washing hands is a simple and cheap way to defend against many deadly diseases. But it is not done nearly enough, which is partly why diarrhea continues to kill nearly 800,000 children every year - more than HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. Conventional methods to encourage better hygiene, such as awareness campaigns, have failed to inspire actual change. HappyTap takes a different approach. We use in-depth research and design thinking to achieve dual social and business missions. We want to see 2 million people washing their hands with LaBobo and we have an ambitious growth plan for Vietnam and across the region.
