You should go up this hill. Amazing viewpoint, you cannot believe in what you see. 100% I will suggest this place if you stop by La Pan Tan on the way to the central Mu Cang Chai. Good photos come with the sunny days, so sunny days are perfect for the photographers!

The must seen checking point for first time tourist in Mu cang chai.
Just amazing the terraces were full of water, and the view was just unbelievable! Probably the most beautiful view of my trip do yourself a favour, come here!
Nice view point but lot of locals trying to sell stuff to tourists. That's pretty ennoying.
Very nice place. But yoy should be here in the early morning. This time is the most wonderful
Depending on if you are here during rice harvest season or not, there can be a few locals trying to scrap by aeager living by selling a few small souvenirs, or virtually no one, except the locals who live here. They normally leave you alone, because they are too busy tending to their fields. I've spent plenty of time here, and they are very friendly, slightly shy. None are pushy or rude. It's nice to have a motorbike, but even if you don't, you can easily find numerous spots for trekking and places to go and see the best views. This location, La Pan Tan commune, in Mu Cang Chai district, has the best rice terraces outside of Sa Pa.
Best viewpoint in these area. Facing east. So if you're photographer, you're better wakeup early morning from your hotel and travel here to catch the sunrise. There's hired motorcycle at Le Van Tam (the commune at QL32, start of trail to viewpoint). I suggest you don't bike up yourself as it's rather dangerous in early morning. Don't forget to bring some food and water. Because you may forget the time. If you have reserved body energy, walk up hill for another 1.5 km. The view is more beautiful than this one.
