Den Chin Con or also called as Con Temple lies along Hoang Mai river in the northern part of Nghe An. From the national road, you’ll have to pass through a local village where they plan tobacco leaves or locally known as “thuoc lao”. Once you reach the river, you’ll immediately see the temple. It is believed that this temple grants wishes or see your fortune. That is why most people who come here ask for good fortune or maybe turn their bad fortune over. After praying and giving respect to the saints, we tried some local delicacies, grilled sardines paired with rolled rice sheets or “banh cuon” in Vietnamese. The fish were freshly taken out from the grill but some fish were not fresh. I noticed that some fish were dry and some were still juicy, a characteristics of fish that’ll tell u if it is still fresh or not. Fresh fish has juicier texture compare to a older fish. The local flea market also has some dried seafood. i think they are good quality, but as a foreigner u need to ask ur local friend to avoid charging for a”tourist price”. After the stroll, we went to the shore to visit another temple, they call it Den Ong Chin Con, i dont what it means but the view was majestic.
