The Law and Policy of Sustainable Development Research Center (LPSD) was established in 2007 and is based in Hanoi, Vietnam. LPSD promotes sustainable development in Vietnam and ensures the equality, transparency and implementation of rights and duties between stakeholders in the social, economic and environmental fields. We are committed to building the capacity of and empowering communities, while not serving political purposes. The community is our highest priority. We create solutions to minimise the harm that industrialisation and modernisation may cause to humanity and the environment, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people. To this end, we conduct research on laws and policies related to the environment and the rights and interests of the people. We actively share our knowledge with communities, youths, the authorities, and other organizations. LPSD is the coordinator and a core member of the Mekong Legal Network (MLN), a coalition of public interest lawyers supported by Earth Rights International (ERI). The MLN works toward protecting people’s legal rights and sustainable development in the Mekong Region. LPSD has also played active roles in the Save the Mekong Coalition (StM), Vietnam Environmental Network (VEN), Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance (VSEA), Vietnam Non Communicable Diseases Prevention Alliance (NCDs-VN).
