Thien Mu Pagoda is a nice place
Thorn Mu Pagoda isn’t too far away from the centre and is surrounded by beautiful gardens which can I found to be relaxing break from the city. It’s amazing to see parts of Vietnam’s ancient history and find out more about the culture that has shaped the nation. Best of all it’s free so worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Thien Mu pagoda is famous and attracts visitors from various places not only by the legendary mysterious story, but a deeply ancient beauty and romantic peace as well. It is about 5kilometers west of Hue city. Thien Mu Pagoda was officially constructed in 1601 by Nguyen Hoang – the first Nguyen Lord in Dang Trong ( South Viet Nam). Thien Mu pagoda is not merely a spiritual place but also a wonderful place of sightseeing , which have been placed in the most beauty rankings of Hue. Within Thien Mu pagoda . it will be easy to feel the inspiration of a dreaming and romantic Hue. Through hundreds of years, every architecture express the belief, the solemn and the harmonious combination with the beautiful natural landscapes. Travelling Hue in general, and Thien Mu pagoda in particular, you will comfortably immerse your mind drifting Perfume river downstream to feel another life in a peaceful Hue
The tallest religious building in Vietnam and it is stunning with a beautiful view over the perfume river. Behind the pagoda itself theres a few other structures and a small garden to wander around. You can go in the pagoda but there is a temple which you can go in. We spent about 45 minutes here soaking up the view. It is a religious site and there are monks who live there so you are requested to cover shoulders and knees. Well worth adding it your list of things to do in Hue especially for the views and the photo opportunities. Plenty of dragon boats will take you there and back on the river.
Thien Mu Pagoda location above the River Point and the garden is every time on my list to visit. Now it’s very hot at day time and almost no visitors. I enjoy the holy religious atmosphere, quiet and the views and wind.
Beautiful and peaceful Pagoda with scenic grounds. It's a little far from other things in Hue (we walked about an hour from our hotel and wished we had just taken a taxi) but there are taxis and boats station close to the entrance so it is easy to find transportation when you are leaving. Would reccomend spending about 20-40 minutes here and it is not ideal for small kids as they have monks praying and request that guests remain quiet. Bring water with you as they don't sell it inside but there are little stalls just outside where you can buy cold water, hats, bags, souvenirs etc.
It's free, beautiful, and a nice place to be on the outskirts of the city. Recommended, especially at sunset.
