This is the best bar we went to In Hoi An, Manager Hip is absolutely brilliant, so friendly and welcoming. We went looking for some live music and found it here . Amazing local bands and musicians who encourage people who play to join them. Mix of Vietnamese and western music. Loved it here , we came everyday.

Great owner who is just rebuilding his bar. The cocktails are the best I have had in Hoi An, on which matter do not drink any in the main tourist area. The live Musik is good and they are extremely hospitable . All in all a great place to go to get a little out of main tourist area.
Recent information about guitar Hawaii: So I learned that the owners of Guitar Hawaii opened a second bar called Fender, that is located more near the ancient town of Hoi An . Now the owner of these places and his wife and their house band are definitely the reason behind all the good reviews. They are skilled musicians and extremely kind and open people. The house band moved to the Fender bar and a new young band plays in Guitar Hawaii now ( this is still open). If classic/hard rock is what you're looking for, I suggest you go to Fender instead of guitar Hawaii. Although the band in guitar Hawaii is good, it's a completely different style and might not meet your expectations if you read the reviews here (which was the case with me). The staff and band were very friendly, but my night in guitar Hawaii ended in something I can only describe as Depressing Karaoke in Vietnamese. If you find yourself disappointed with Guitar Hawaii or just looking for a place with a good live band (as all the reviews describe) please go and meet the owner and his wife in Fender because they are best people I've met in whole Vietnam. It just feels... authentic. Like the birthplace of something grungy and creative and underdog but you don't have the privilege of time and distance to be able to put a name to it yet. What's it like? Fun, calm, come as you are, no judgments. You kind of feel like you're in a post-apocolytic movie set, but then you realize...this is all real. This is Hoi An behind the scenes. This is where people come to listen to music after working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week before going home to their window-less kitchen-less studio apartment. This is where two friends without a common language can play pool and have a beer together, maybe play some music. It's beautiful for just being what it is. An outlet for creative expression made by a handful of creative people just trying to make it in a dog-eat-dog kind of world.
Unfortunately the bar was completely dead when we popped in one evening. No band was playing and there was nobody else there except for the staff and an army of flies biting our ankles. The seats are by far the most uncomfortable I’ve sat on in Vietnam too. Bathrooms are fine. It’s probably much better when there is a band on though, but it can’t get much worse!
Amazing place, opportunity for live music by amazing musicians as tam and his wife daisy the owners of the bar and a wonderful family band. Every one can play and sing with the band in very intimate and supportive atmosphere. We came back 3 times to this bar to listen play and sing with them and it was defiantly one of the high lights of our visit in Vietnam
Werry nice and good service. Go and play biljard, drink koffe, juse or beer.
Great food and fresh beer. Western and local cuisine and great prices.
