We can't recommend Jerry highly enough, he's an absolute legend. Jerry took us on a fantastic boat tour of all the southern islands, stopping off at secluded spots for snorkelling and swimming. Jerry really knows his stuff, having been on the island for 14 years. If you are visiting Phu Quoc, do yourself a big favour and book a tour with Jerry.

We travel with Jerry and his man Lai for two days. We visited NW one day and NE the other day, beautiful scene along the way. My wife loves it, especially the NE. Jerry put our safety first. He helps you avoid the crowd and visit some of the quiet place. The trip ends at around three o clock. So, you still have time to visit the south, the cable car and the prison camp. And there is no tourist groups in the afternoon. You can even occupy the whole cable car by yourselves. In the end, you visit every corner of the island for just two days.
My butt happily hurts from spending all day kicking around Phu Quoc on a motorcycle. Jerry is your go to man for the secret spots around the island. He will show the “real life” of Phu Quoc, without sugarcoating anything with rose coloured glasses. A refreshing perspective in comparison to the kinds of tours that only show you the facade of SEA. Multiple times we drove past roads or paths he hadn’t even explored, and went on adventures together to discover new spaces. Although I only spent one day with Jerry, suggestion would be to book him for 4 days (with a day in between each day for sore butt rest). He splits the island into four quarters, and shows you the ins and outs comprehensively. His prices are very reasonable. Jerry is originally from NZ but has been living on the Island for 12 years, and is happy to be called part of the furniture of the place. He speaks English and Vietnamese fluently.
I booked a birdwatching tour with Jerry after hearing about him on tripadvisor. He showed up at 6:45 smelling of alcohol (he describes himself as a functioning alcoholic). He then took us on a motorbike to a couple of spots he likes. After finding very few birds, he just took us to a few beaches and a coffee place, without really telling us where we were going. Unfortunately Jerry is not a birdwatcher and does not know birds very well. I do not know why he is selling birdwatching tours since, without knowledge of birds, he could not really show us very much, and we ended up driving over an hour to some spots where we saw very little. The birdwatching around my hotel was just as good (if not better) as where he took us. We had also booked a sailing tour of the islands to the south of Phu Quoc. Unfortunately my girlfriend got sick and we had to cancel at the last minute. Jerry got quite upset, and told me he was going to send his driver over to collect 100. Eventually he backed down and hung up the phone. Although Jerry probably knows the island better than anyone and can show you some great spots, he is not a professional.
Would definitely recommend that you use Jerry and Thang for your tours on Phu Quoc you get to see the real Vietnam not the commercial side both Jerry and Thang are so knowledgable and great personalities ... we can’t thank them enough so reliable we went on two tours one to the NE and one to the NW both were superb saw places that normal tours don’t go ... five stars is probably not enough more like a ten .... thanks Jerry and Thang from all of us you were superb ️️️
Jerry took us on a tour of the NW of the island. Jerry is a very friendly guy and was extremely informative the whole time along the tour with all sorts of interesting local knowledge. Jerry took us along tracks and to amazing and beautiful areas we would never have been able to get to or even know about on our own. We are so happy we did this tour on our holiday. When I go back I'll be booking Jerry again.
Had a second fantastic day with Jerry and his team visiting 11 of the Fingernail island group and what a great day. Always keeping away from the crowds and most of the time the only boat on the shore. Finishing off with a magnificent lunch on a floating fish restaurant. Many thanks Jerry for a great day.
Did an eleven island boat trip south of Phu Quoc. Jerry and his crew made sure we had a day to remember. Customised the tour to suit our needs. Food on the island was excellent. Stopped off for swimming and snorkeling. Would recommend for people wishing to experience the real deal.
